Call to Action – Please review the proposed updates to the BOOK OF BY-LAWS of Al-Anon Information Service of Orange County and Greater Long Beach
Who: All Al-Anon members of meetings in our local Districts 57, 60, 63 & 66
The Office Oversight and Continuity Committee has reviewed and updated the Book of By-laws for our AIS.
A few key changes:
- Outdated references have been updated.
- The by-laws have been separated from the Group Manual and Office Manual documents. The information in the Group Manual is now largely covered in the Groups at Work booklet, and the Office Manual is under review, and not considered part of the By-laws.
- Board Officer roles and election processes have been updated.
- A section has been added defining the Office Oversight & Continuity Committee. This Committee was approved by the ISRs on a 3-year trial basis in 2022. This version of the by-laws would define the role of that Committee moving forward.
The By-laws update was presented to the ISRs at the meeting Wednesday, April 17 and updated after our June 4th meeting. They are posted here on the website.
